The Question:
Hi, It has been so silent around Vistapro that I am wondering whether it is useful to buy an upgrade. I am using Vistapro for many, many years an have seen this software moving from one to an other company.
My latest version is 4.0.x and I am curious whether there is something new, except the fact that you want to let me pay again and again for just a tiny innovation. So please be honest and let me know about the real difference.
I love this software and regret that the software had not been developed further.

The Answer:
Hey Herman,
First you have our thanks for being such a loyal customer of VP over the years. This company is all made up of VP loving people as well. Each of us have worked on the application at various times and even in various of the companies you speak of that VP moved through. This is a wonderful program and the movement you have seen with it (from company to company) has been a serious labor of love in order to keep it as supported as it can be.
Having said that, if you are comfortable with your 4.0.x version, then there is no need to upgrade. Many of the core functionality is the same as it was in this version and the latest upgrade is meant mainly for 3.x and earlier version holder.
The main upgrade in this new version is that it is now Windows native. With a Windows interface and a number of speed touches under the hood to better work with Windows.
But, this is not meant to be a major upgrade. Which is why it is listed as a .x upgrade and not a full number upgrade.
Having said that, of course, I do need to appeal to the other side of the coin. Which is, that support for a product is measured in its' purchase power. Every sale lets us justify new and ongoing development. Every non-upgrade gives a developer the thought that the software is not desired. Something we know not to be the case with VP.
It is just that VP has always been so great that it is hard to build on perfection without fear of messing it up ;) Just being real here. We have a company of people here that would rather nothing more than working on VP around the clock.
